Have you ever felt like you are buzzing along, finally feeling a sense of freedom and right on the edge of making your next big breakthrough, then all of a sudden you get whacked with an energetic two-by-four?
Damn! Down for the count and frozen by your own fear.
First of all… ouch!
Second of all… I would investigate, dig deep and get curious about what’s going on?
I understand this feeling because I’ve been there. I was blazing on and then I got slapped down… Whammo!
Frozen solid by my own fear and running on empty through my Conditioned Self.
I know…big wake up call.
WHAT ABOUT YOU?
DOES ANY OF THIS RING A BELL SOMEWHERE INSIDE?
For so long I was completely baffled, thinking I was down right bonkers! But what I’ve come to understand is I kept hitting into the wall of my Terror Barrier and rebounding backward instead of breaking through it.
The Terror Barrier is a fictitious concept that exists inside your mind that prevents and stops you from moving forward when you are about to make a major breakthrough. When you enter into an area you’ve never been before, The Quivering Terror Barrier rears its nasty little head and shines a light inside your psyche and says “STOP everything – WE’RE done – SHOW’S over!”
Your Subconscious Mind Will Convince You To:
• CONSTANTLY DOUBT
• WORRY PROFUSELY
• MONKEY AROUND IN YOUR ADDICTIVE BEHAVIORS
And magnifies one of the biggest fairy tales…
• YOU’RE NOT SAFE & PAIN IS THE ONLY OPTION WAITING FOR YOU ON THE OTHER SIDE OF YOUR BREAKTHROUGH!
When you say or do something that your subconscious thinks will lead to pain, The Terror Barrier kicks into action in an effort to protect you – basically your mind lies to you to keep you out of danger. The problem is, those lies can prevent you from pursuing your dreams and creating the greatest version of yourself.
WHAT LIES ARE YOU TELLING YOURSELF?
What if instead of lying, fighting, and camping out in your comfort zone, you found a way to transform your fear?
BELOW ARE 4 TIPS ON HOW TO BREAK FREE & MOVE THROUGH YOUR TERROR BARRIER:
• TIP #1 – GET CURIOUS
Dialogue with your fear and find out what it’s trying to tell you:
“What Are You Protecting Me From?”
“What Do You Need To Feel Safe, Secure, Loved And Still Make A Breakthrough Happen?”
Once you listen deeply and embrace what’s wanting to emerge through your thought system it’s easier to stop taking the fear and negativity to heart. When you recognize that your fear voice is only one voice inside, but not the primary one, you master the ability to know who is lovingly in charge and who’s calling the shots.
• TIP #2 – FIND HUMOR IN YOUR EXPERIENCE
Ask yourself, “What’s comical about what is happening right now?”
Humor is an essential element for your well-being.
USING YOUR HUMOR ENABLES YOU TO:
• Look at your challenge from a different point of view
• Makes your challenge less constricting
• Lets you objectively see new opportunities
• And hell… it’s flat out – a lot more fun!
• TIP #3 – COMMIT TO COURAGE
When it comes to stretching out of your comfort zone and committing to your courage, the big shift that needs to take place is:
– Who do you need to become to make your breakthrough happen?
– What are the internal qualities that you need to embody to make your change a reality?
• TIP #4 – TAKE SOUL INSPIRED ACTION
This is action that comes from your inner wisdom and not from your mind chatter that is driven by fear and anxiety.
Whatever your inspired action is, take it and continue taking it.
Let’s be perfectly clear, the reality is YOU’RE AMAZING.
Your fear and frozen feelings of being belted with “The Infamous Icicle Stick” is just a detour in getting rid of WHO YOU ARE NOT.
The next time you’re confronted with your Terror Barrier I encourage you to try these tips and then notice how you feel when you face your big, bad barrier head on!
These tips require practice but once you make them a habit, you’ll find a way to rise up and transform your breakdowns into breakthroughs.
